Computer Security & Viruses/Anonymity on the web

Question
Hello: I am running Zonealarm Pro,Spywareblaster (anti-adware/spyware program) and McAfee Virusscan on Win XP Home.I am using the Firefox browser as well, and really like it's features.
Lately,I have being getting paranoid regarding the ease with which a website can identify my IP address.Targeted ads will pop up,naming my home city.
Can you suggest a good anonymous surfing software product, one that provides the best bang for my buck?

Thanks!

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
