Question
Good morning Carolyn, My Mccafee security will shortly be up for renewal Last year when it was due I found a offer for the same system and installed that and after some initial problems  on installation all as been well since. I live in the UK and wonder if Mccafee is the best system to use and if I did change would I need to delete Mccafee and install a new system. Sorry if this seems to be a rambling question, Regards Frank

Answer
McAfee is one of the best antivirus programs, and the company supports UK users. If all you have is its antivirus product, you might want to upgrade to its Internet Security Suite 2007 at http://uk.mcafee.com/root/store.asp . This will add a firewall, spyware/adware and identity theft protection.

If you want to try out another antivirus program, you will have to uninstall McAfee. This is because antivirus programs fight over each virus the other finds and this can crash your computer.

If you do decide to try another antivirus program, my two favorites are Norton Internet Security and F-Secure Internet Security, which offers a free trial version at http://www.f-secure.com/home_user/support_and_downloads/evaluations/ . I also like Norton System Works as it can fix many Windows problems that have nothing to do with malicious programs. You can use Norton System Works along with any other company's antivirus or Internet security program as it is compatible with them.
