QUESTION: Hell Doug,
my name is Fritz. My computer is set up with Windows Xp Home. I use Internet Explorer 6, SP2.
Question 1.
Do you recommend upgrading to IE 7?
Question 2.
So far I used Norton Internet Security 2006 and did not notice any problems. Other people have problems loading the 2007 version and experience extreme sluggishness of their system. My subscription needs to be renewed by May, and hearing about these difficulties makes me wonder what program to purchase. Every program, of course, claims to be the best.
Are you willing to comment on that subject? I would greatly appreciate that.

ANSWER: Hi Fritz,
I would wait till they get the rest of the bugs out of it if you can. The next release is in May.

I have not heard any problems with Norton 2007.
If Norton works for you, keep it. Its what I tell everyone.
Stay with what works.
And make sure you have a good Firewall. And AntiSpyware.

QUESTION: Hi Doug, and thanks for getting back so quickly.
I will wait for the next version of IE7.
Please comment on using "The Shield Professional 2007" as well as "avast 4.7" versus "Norton Internet Security 2007".
A secondary question would be if it is better to use the above Norton product, or to buy separate programs for the Firewall and Anti-virus.

The Shield as well as Avast are great products.
I used Avast for years along with Ad-Aware and Sygate Firewall.
Im using Bitdefender now. Its a all-in-one.
I like it alot.
