Computer Security & Viruses/Computer is "useless" all of a sudden

Question
Last week I opened an e-mail from an unidentified person (accidentally).

Yesterday I began getting pop-ups saying there was very little space available on C, and that I should delete any programs or desktop icons that are not being used.

Following the advice, I got rid of much unused items.

Now - Today, I have message saying ZERO space available, even though I "cleaned house".

Also,
I am unable to open AOL.
Unable to install new printer (got it this morning, thinking reason I couldn't print was printer and now believe it's computer)
Unable to print labels of any kind.
   Unable to open my QuickBooks.

What can I do?

  Sincerely,
  Kristie

Answer
Hi Kristie,
Are you using XP?
What Antivirus are you using?
Are you sure you have a full hard disk?
When was was your last restore point created? Can you restore back to a few days ago before this happened.

Was there a attachment to this email? Do you still have it?

Let me know.
