Hi there, I'm not sure if it's a serious problem but I rather ask for help than risk the chances. Today my Auto-Protect from Symantec AntiVirus had picked up some downloaders. Most of them like 'unp89970619.tmp' kinds. I closed it afterwards but it keeps coming up with those results. I'm concern if it's something serious, so please help me if you can. Thank you.

Hi Nana,
Symantec is alerting you to these threats and you are quaranting them, correct? To be safe, even though you have Norton installed, go to:
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym
Click the GO button, then under Virus Detection, click Start. You might be told that you need to download and install ActiveX Controls for the scan to work, answer Yes.
Write down exactly anything it finds, then go to:
http://www.symantec.com/search/ and do a search for what was found. Symantec usually has a removal tool and/or directions for removing manually. Make sure that you follow the instructions for removal, step by step, especially the part regarding disabling System Restore.
Downloaders of any sort can also include viruses and/or spyware.
Hope this helps!

AnswerHi Nana,
If Symantec didn't find anything, that's good news. From what you wrote earlier, it sounds like Symantec/Norton was just alerting you to the downloaders and quarantined them. To double check open Norton AntiVirus, click Reports on the left side of screen, then click View Norton Quarantine. The downloaders should be listed there, if you want, you can delete them from there by highlighting them and clicking Delete.
Hope this helps!
