Question
Hi Doug,
I recently got some viruses and had a tough time dealing with them. [Smitfraud, Zlob and some others] I ran scans and removed what I could from registry with out taking chances there !] I think that my PC still has problems from them? I can't update from Microsoft Windows Update either auto or manual? System seems very slow and odd errors happen?
I have been told the best thing to do is to do a complete "System Recovery" or format hard drive? My PC [hp pavilion 521n] didn't come with CD's. How can I do this?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks, Rocky

Answer
Hi Rocky,
Did it come with Ghost? Do a Ctrl F11 doing boot to see if it did. If so, you can restore to the day you bought it.
If not, you can dnload a program called "Hijack This".
Run it and save the log results.
Upload the log results to a good help Forum.
I recommend Major Geeks Forum. You have to register and upload the logs to the Malware section.
They are good people there and will help you get a clean puter again.

Hope this helps.
