Tina,
It is possible that you still have programs on your computer that include trhe gain software as part of the install.
Note: http://www.gainpublishing.com/help/psdocs/kmd/communications50.html
is the policy statement from Gain. So, if you want to get rid of the Gain you will need to uninstall any software that you may have that includes Gain.
You will need to find out what software is using Gain, then uninstall it. It may be helpful to do a google search for 'gain adserver" to see if any software you are using comes up,then uninstall the software.
Interestingly, most antipyware software may not recognize Gain as spyware due to their acknowledgement of how it operates and presentation of their policy (most people don't read the fine print) to the end user stating that it will send info back to thier server and send you popups. Legally, when you download software and are presented with a statement saying that "by installing this software, you agree with their policy of sending info back to their servers and sending you popups", then it isn't technically spyware, since they are telling what the software will be doing in the background (Again, most people don' t read the small print when dowloading software, etc)
Its probably still in one of your programs somewhere.
Hope this helps.
