AboutLorry Expertise I can answer most questions regarding viruses/Trojans and help to remove them.
Experience This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
Question But do I have to use professional software? Is there some technique or simple program I can write myself that will kick them out or stop them; or is there a feature in the browser that lets me prevent them from coming in?
Thanks,
PS: Not that I am afraid of buying a software package; I just like to do things on my own if possible. It's a great learning experience.

Question -
I use ad-aware program to find spyware type junk that gets downloaded. I run this every day or so and remove these little rascals because they slow down my on-line experience.
BUT, how can I detect them as they come in and prevent them from getting onto the cookie list in the first place?
Thanks,
Cleggsan
Answer -
Hi Cleggsan,
The odds are that you are using the "free" version. For example, if you pay Ad-aware, Spy Sweeper, Spybot Search and Destroy, they will detect spyware right away.
Hope this helps!

Answer Hi Cleggsan,
You're one up on me there, I never wrote a program. I run Ad-aware once a week, just in case, so far, all it has found is cookies. The same for when I ran Spy Sweeper and Spybot Search & Destroy.
