Hello, I'm writing for my daughter. she just got comcast internet service.  we can't get it to go on because we can't get activex.  we are supposed to get a yellow line under toolbar on top that says install activex in order to get online.  we don't get it and have no idea what to do. it has something to do with norton but we called them with no help. we are so stuck. i hope you can help us.  thank you for your trouble and have a wonderful holiday.  susan

Answer
Hello Susan,
Is this direct connect thru a modem from Comcast or wireless?
Are you using IE? If you are using Firefox, ActiveX is not supported.
Also Comcast uses McAfee, this may be a conflict. Have you tried Comcast customer support?

I use Comcast myself and Ive always gotten great customer support. I also use Firefox and dont have a problem.
Are your MS Updates current?
You can go online to Comcast.net. In the upper right Top go to Ask Comcast, select I cant connnect, then hit talk to a rep. Then select High Speed Internet. They are a lil busy tonite, but its a option if you dont want to call them.

Let me know,
