QUESTION: first of all, thank you so much in advance for your help.  i really do appreciate your time and effort.
its kind of obvious that my computer have spy-ware.  there are pop-ups and it changes the settings every once in awhile.  i talked to couple of people about this and they said that i need to re-set the whole computer, which takes about several hours or so...  i have no idea how to do this.  so could you help me this?  is this the only way or are there other alternatives that i could do to get rid of this spyware?  thank you so much.

ANSWER: Hi Sam,
First, what Puter do you have?
What AntiVirus and AntiSpyware are you using?
Are your MS Updates current?

QUESTION: i use windows xp.  i am not using any antivirus and i hate spybot. i had unpleasant experience with it.  i think my ms updates are prety current.  so how do i format the drive?

Answer
Hi again Sam,
Did you get a Restore disk with the puter when you bought it?
Do you have registered XP software to re-install?
You can try holding the Ctrl and F11 key on boot to see if the puter came with Ghost, if so then you can restore to the day you bought it.
Otherwise I can give you another option, it will take a lil work at a help forum though.
Let me know.
