Question
When I run spybot I have started receiving showing as a problem the following:
i search tech slotch
i search ist svc
i search power scan
I also recieve the following message.
Error during check
xuron55(datei c:)windows/win.ini kann nic
This error also has triangle with an exclamation point inside the triangle. These problems just started showing up on my computer as I have had spy bot for years. Hope you can help.

The "xuron55" error message is a bug in Spybot. To fix it, run the update function in Spybot. Launch Spybot from Start --> All Programs and it should automatically update. If this doesn't work, uninstall Spybot, then download the latest version and reinstall.
One way to get rid of the remaining problems is to run a different anti-spyware/adware program. Ad-aware is free from http://lavasoft.element5.com/software/adaware You can run both Adaware and Spybot because they are compatible with each other. That's what I do and they have never caused any problems.
