Question
I am a programmer and I have been asked to “ssh to xxx.yyy.com with ssh2”.  I have a PC running windows 98.  How do I do this?  Charlie  chvol@aol.com

Answer
There are several free programs that let you run ssh on Windows. Try download.com and search on ssh2. Then what you get depends upon what your client asked you to do. To transfer files, look for "scp" or "secure ftp" of "sftp." For getting into a shell where you can write and compile programs, etc., pick a program that says something about "login" or "terminal" and it will give you the same kind of login ability to a Unix-type shell that you would get with a telnet connection.
