Computer Security & Viruses/szscnsvcdll
Expert: Lorry - 12/21/2006
QuestionLorry: I am teh CIO of iS3, manufacturer of STOPzilla. Norton is incorrectly flagging our DLL as a trojan. We are a legitimate anti-Spyware application. We are not malware. Please see our site,
http://www.iS3.com Our software has won numerous awards for technical excellence. This is a Norton problem that we are trying to resolve. If you want to discuss, my number is 877-877-9944 X125.
This is doing extraordinary damage to our good name.
Please help by clarifying for your readers.
Thanks,
Jess Kalish
AnswerHi Jess,
STOPzilla is a legit program, no two ways about it. Hsve you done a search for "szscnsvcdll"? Evidently, Symantec isn't the only company that thinks that is a virus/spyware.
After doing some more searching, it seems that people have the program but don't know how they got it. It's possible that they forgot that they downloaded it? Or does it come bundled with any other programs? I don't know.
Seems to me that you are taking the correct steps by trying to resolve this problem with Symantec.

Lorry
