Question
Hi Lorry,
AVG antivirus reported the above viruses on my laptop and reported them as "deleted", but I've rerun the AV program 3 times now and these viruses keep showing up. What do I do to get rid of them?

My laptop runs Win XP professional and I just downloaded / installed Service Pack 2.

Thanks for any help you can offer,
Norm Evans

Answer
Hi Norm,

Even though you have AVG installed, I would suggest that you go to: http://sarc.com/  Scroll down and click on,"Free Online Virus and Security Check" and run the virus check. Write down exactly anything it finds, then return to: http://sarc.com/  and do a search for what was found. Symantec usually has a removal tool and/or directions for removing manually.

Hope this helps!

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
