any advice you can give me on this problem would be a great help

Answer
Hi John,

Even though you scanned with McAfee, try going to: http://sarc.com/  Scroll down and click on,"Free Online Virus and Security Check" and run the virus check. Write down exactly anything it finds, then return to: http://sarc.com/  and do a search for what was found. Symantec usually has a removal tool and/or directions for removing manually.

Keep System Restore disabled when repairing and make sure you follow the directions for removal step by step.

Hope this helps!

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
