Expert: Lorry - 12/30/2005
QuestionLorry, i have Norton 2004 internet security on my system and wish to updrade to the new norton internet security 2006. I actually ended up last year staying with my 2004 since i could not properly take a download of the 2005 software from there website, so i just renewed, well now i want to get the 2006 and was wandering can you tell me what do i need to do?
Do i delete the 2004 version, if so when? If i cant take the download and order the CD, do i take the 2004 off first. I read some things about having to do something with the registry too, this all seems so complicated, can you stear me in the general direction to get me from my 2004 to the 2006 properly. Many thanks.
AnswerHi Marc,
Have you purchased the 2006 version yet? If not, wait for a sale price with rebates for previous owners at the local stores. By doing that, you should get it for free or close to it.
Norton Internet Security should be able to remove the earlier version before it installs itself. The following site explains how to install NIS 2006 from the CD:

Happy New Year!
