Question
I use Windows XP and my computer is infected with Trojan.ByteVerify
Please advise on how I could remove this virus.
I use AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition.
Thanks

Answer
Fortunately this Trojan is easy to remove. First disable System Restore because it might hold a copy of the Trojan. How to disable or enable System Restore in Windows XP:

Restart your computer in Safe Mode by hitting F8 while rebooting.

Next, update your AVG virus definitions. Then run a complete system scan and delete any copies of the Trojan it detects.

Now restart in normal mode and reenable System Restore. Run an AVG scan again just to make certain the Trojan is gone.

If for any reason this doesn't work, another good free antivirus program is Avast! antivirus, from http://www.avast.com/eng/down_home.html
