Computer Security & Viruses/virus making my computer reboot

Question
I've run Ad-Aware, Spybot, Trojan Remover, all with no success even in safe mode. All results say it's a mal-ware trojan. It makes my PC reboot about every 5 minutes. Any ideas on how to kill it?

Answer
Hi Lucas,

It could be a virus or could be that you have to update the BIOS on the computer. To verify if it's a virus or not, go to: http://sarc.com/  Scroll down and click on,"Free Online Virus and Security Check" and run the virus check. Write down exactly anything it finds, then return to: http://sarc.com/  and do a search for what was found. Symantec usually has a removal tool and/or directions for removing manually.

If that doesn't help, let me know what operating system you are using, computer mfg. and model number.

Hope this helps!

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
