Computer Security & Viruses/virus protection and firewall

Question
I need some information about virus protection for my Dell computer. I have Mcafee virus scan and firewall. However,I understand that there is a problem using this with Firefox which is what I use. What virus protection would you recommend and do I need a firewall? I use our computer for use of two teenagers and for general information.

Hi Patricia,

It sounds like you are in resonably good shape here and I couldn't say that you are in any huge danger using Firefox.  What I would recommend though is getting a product like Lavasoft Ad-Aware or Spybot to protect you against Spyware.
