Question
how do i remove a virus file that denies access.i run windows xpsp2 home.ihave tried command lines, registry edit and software spybot ,avast, etc.nothing does anything.  thanks

Answer
Hi J.H.Wells,

If you can start the computer in safe mode, do so, and run a virus scan. I'm assuming that you have an antivirus program installed.

If that doesn't help, I think the best thing would be to reformat and reinstall Windows XP:

After reinstalling, don't forget to go to Windows Update and to install an antivirus program, update it and run a virus scan.

Hope this helps!

This happens to be of interest to me as it boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do than to write a virus. Wish these people, the ones who write viruses would put the knowledge to good use instead. My job as a local tech involves removing viruses and/or spyware.
