Computer action games/Graphic Problem on CSS

Question
Hi, I just reinstalled Windows Proffesional after my laptop (Dell Inspiron 8600)
crashed, and everything on Counterstrike Source was good except for the
graphics. When ever I see a CT, there are a lot of lines of color shooting out
of them. I can bear with it, but it is very annoying when it gets into my vision.
Do you have any idea what the problem is and how to fix it?

Answer
This sounds almost like it's a graphics driver issue. Are you sure you have the latest update to DirectX 9? Also, make sure your graphic card drivers are up to date. Windows XP comes with a lot of pre-installed drivers, but none of them are by any means up to date.

You can find out what kind of graphics card you're using by clicking Start, Run, and typing "dxdiag" (without the quotes), pressing enter, then going to the Display tab. The "chipset" is your graphics card, and the manufacturer is the name of the company who made it. Visit their website and you can find up to date drivers.

If you're over clocking your card at all, try lowering your clocks because you might be over doing the card, and the lines you see could be graphical artifacts.
