Question
I have a pentium 4 system. It has 512 MB ram, 2.4 GHz Processor and 32 MB Vga. Os is Windows xp and have directx 8 installed. I can Play IGI-2 on it but whenever i try to run older version of IGI i.e. IGI-1 it gives me an error message and quits the game. The message it shows to me read as "Couldn't Create Surface. Directx error message: DDERR_INVALIDPARAMS". Please help me solve this problem. thank you

I don't know what the requirements for the game you're trying to run, but there really should be no reason why you shouldn't have the latest version of DirectX installed, theres nothing wrong with it, DirectX has a long history of making large improvements with each upgrade, including recently, DirectX 10, only available on Vista.
