Question
QUESTION: Hi

I am having problem with LORD OF THE RINGS, actually there is no installation problem but when I clicks on play then only black screen pop ups and game don't starts ,but when I reloaded on my friends PC and LAP TOP then it ran on both of them very good,
Requirement for lord of the rings are: Pentium 3 600.128 Mb ram
Direct x 8 video card (32 MB video card with single pass, multi texturing and t&l)
Direct x compliant sound card
Direct x 8 or higher
800 Mb hard drive

MY system configuration is:
Pentium 4 core 2duo 1.866 MHz
160 GB Hdd
2 GB ddr2 ram
NVIDIA Ge force quadro FX 540 graphic card 128 mb

DVD read writer ROM
Genuine XP
Original LORD OF THE RINGS CD

Please help me and tell me what the problem I am having?
And for your guess I am telling you that I am playing NEED FOR SPEED UNDERGROUND AND DOOM 3 quite comfortably with it

while DOOM 3 requirement is higher than it.

ANSWER: Try completely uninstalling the game (uninstall it, then delete all the directory files) then completely reinstall it.

If this doesn't work, I'm not entirely sure. I do know though, that video card is not going to get you very far. You must consider an upgrade if you plan to play newer games. Doom 3 is perhaps one of the easiest NextGen games to run, so easy it's not even really NextGen anymore.

Might I recommend a GeForce 76000 or GeForce 7900gs

QUESTION: hi

i have reinstalled it but it didn't work actually only black screen window pop ups which usually pop ups before any game starts,
second thing is that quadro fx 540 what i have is higher end card and costlier then cards you mentioned(GeForce 76000 or GeForce 7900gs)
and last thing is that in my freind's computer there is no spacial graphic card its just for normal needs

ANSWER: Try running a diagnostics startup.

Click Start, then go to Run.

Type in msconfig

Then under the first tab, there are multiple selections, such as Normal, Diagnostics and Selective. Pick selective and click Okay, then restart.

This will make your PC start up with everything it needs to run, but nothing distracting like instant messengers (on start up). This way if something is stopping it from starting up, this will catch it.

QUESTION: hi

i did all of that what u guided but still I am having problem
one thing i want to tell you that I also stops hearing loud sound of cd running in my dvd drive so dvd drive can do problem like this?
actually it runs some dvds but it didn't run some other dvds what are running in other's computers quite comfortably sometimes it shows them as cd icon when it don't runs them

Answer
I've had issues with older DVD drives not working correctly, but it sounds like your game is already starting up. Generally the only reason disks are ever needed in the drive after you install a game, is to check to see if you legally bought the game (have the physical disk).

As far as your problem, I'm sorry to say, but I'm really just not sure of whats wrong.
