Conifers - juniper sky rocket

Expert: Jim Hyland - 3/25/2008

Question
I am in the midwest, zone 5 and have a linear but tight area that I would like to plant a row of tall narrow trees.  The area is partly shady however.  Would the sky rocket juniper be an ok choice for here?  Thanks.

Answer
Sounds like a good choice to me. Stately, columnar form makes this probably the narrowest juniper available; resembles a skyrocket! Durable and versatile, best grouped to form a colorful bluish-gray screen or garden accent. Full sun. Fast grower to 15 to 20 feet tall, 2 to 3 feet wide.
