Question
i have 10 italian cypress trees that are planted in the southside of my house, they are about 3 1/2 feet from the south wall and are about 8-9 feet tall. I need to know if this is a safe distance from the house, I'am concerned about the roots doing any damage to the raised foundation or anything else.
thanks.

Answer
Italian cypress has a spread of 3-6 feet at maturity meaning the limbs will reach up to about 3 feet from the trunk. Your tree is far enough to not rub the house. The roots will not be a problem with this tree. The only thing would be the branches rubbing on the house and if this becomes a problem in years to come just prune back some of the branches near the house. Your tree sounds like it will be fine where it is.
