Conifers/Italian Cypress Watering

Question
I live in Orlando, Fl and recently planted some Italian Cypress.  I've been told to give them 1" of water per week.  We arent' getting any rain lately and it's been around 90 degrees and sunny every day.  Should I be watering them a little more often?

Answer
Newly planted cypress will need a little more water. I would water every third day for a month or so then drop back to once a week. A good way to measure the amount of water is place a pan under the tree and turn the sprinkler on and when the pan has 1 inch of water in it stop.
