Conifers/Leland Cyprus trees

Question
My row (200 ft) of Leland Cyprus trees about 8 yrs old started showing dying from inside to end of limbs this summer. Sent County Agr Ext group several limbs for testing. Negative results. No evidence of bag worms, which we had treated for in the past. Ag agent says has seen similar complaints but has no diagnosis. Similar trees in neighborhood do not show same. Any suggestions? We live in Clayton, NC. (Piedmont area of NC)

Answer
Do not know much about Leland Cypress. It sounds like it may just be shading of the inter leaves and this makes them drop. I would suggest you call The Pest management people at the North Carolina Division of Forestry --Don Rogers --919-793-2162 Ext 265 or email @ donrogers@ncmail.net.
Don should be able to help since they deal with Leland more than I do. Good luck!
