Connecticut - travel in New England

Expert: Morgan - 3/14/2005

Question
My husband and I would like to plan a two week trip to New England to see the fall colors.  We are at a loss as to where to go and stay.  We enjoy history, scenery and bed and breakfasts with lovely views.  Can you make any helpful suggestions.
Thank You,
Helene

Answer
I would highly suggest Vermont if you are into all the foliage. Vermont has great bed and breakfasts and great history. You can also find some bed and breakfasts that overlook Champlain Lake. Connecticut (the Litchfield Hills/Northwest Corner) has great history...and fall colors. You could stay at a place such as the Litchfield Inn. If you are really up for a trip, you could drive from Connecticut to Vermont. I tell you, it's a great drive if you have the time (it's about a 6 hour drive from CT to Burlington, VT). Anywhere really in the New England would be great in the fall time.
