Conservative Judaism/3rd Temple

Question
Will the 3rd Temple be built in this century? I have read accounts that there are groups in Israel preparing by making the clothes, the ornaments, the utensils, all the things that will go into the temple, the breeding of the red heifer, the developing of the priesthood all these things are being done now to prepare for the eventual rebuilding of the 3rd Temple as a prelude to the return of the Messiah.  Notwithstanding, the opposition from the Muslims will the government help to build that Temple in this century or do you believe the temple will come sooner?

Answer
Dear Gordon,

Thanks for writing.

But, I have to disappoint you. The 3rd Temple will not be rebuilt except in the imagination. Period.

Notwithstanding all of the money being raised by those who would like to be an organization funding each other to plan for it.

I wait for God to appear in a messianic age - not a person and not with conflict of peopls - but in a miraculous fashion if it is to occur at all.

Best wishes
