Conservative Judaism/6 Day War

Question
Within the last year I saw an amazing documentary on television in which soldiers who fought in this war re-tell their stories which included divine intervention (i.e. angel or inexplicable retreat from an outnumbering Arab band).  Do you know the title and/or where I can locate this, please?

Answer
Dear Jill,

Thanks for writing.

There are a variety of films aboutthe 6 Day War in 1967, including some documentaries. I have seen a number of them and don't recall any speaking specifically of divine intervention.

I do know that in general soldiers will describe events from their fighting in religious terms, especially those which fly in the face of logic and normal expectations. Soldiers in virtually ever war will speak of "miracles." I can't comment on the accuracy or reality of such.

One book I would recommend is "Siach Lochamim," a Hebrew book which has been translated. It may be under the title of the "Six Day War." An easy read from a wide variety of perspectives.

Best wishes
