Question
Dear Rabbi:
This week's Parshah tells of the dough-type offerings as well as some of the others. My question, however, has to do with the former. The flow seems odd to me and I'm hoping you can explain.

The person brings their dough (raw) offering and the Priests "scoops out" (obviously not yet baked bread) a portion for the offering. It then appears that the person has to ge somewhere and bake his/her bread and then bring it back to the Priest for his use. Did they bake on Temple ggrounds or did this process require 2 trips? Thanks!

Answer
Dear HB

Thanks for writing. Interesting question. My quick recollection is that either meal is brought as an offering or baked bread, but not just dough from which bread would be baked.

Can you please give the chapter and verse(s) and the Humash and commentary from which you are deriving your question? It will help tremendously.

Thanks

Rabbi Dov
