Conservative Judaism/Halal equal to Kosher?

Hi Rabbi Lerner,

I have heard that from the Muslim viewpoint, Kosher meat is acceptable for Muslims to eat, as meat butchered in a Kosher way fulfills Muslim requirements for the meat to be Halal.  Is the opposite also true, do Jews feel that meat butchered in a Halal way is fulfills the  requirements of Kashrut?

No, Hallal does not meet the standards of kosher slaughter, butchering or preparing meat.

Yes, you are correct in that observant Muslims consider kosher slaughter/butchering to meet their standards for Hallal.
