Question
Dear Rabbi
I have written to you before, you askesd me for my email adress.
I wonder if I am a Jew, I am so PROUD of my Jewosh blood,
My dad is not a jew at all, he is german (goyim) and my mom is Jew, but I think that her father was jewish only, not her mom, but my two uncles had both jewosh parents, their mom was killed by the germans in the time of that evil hitler. My mom is not born into Judaism though, and I do believe in Y'shua, but I never judge, or tell Jews, I dont want my People to feel offended. I have better friendship with Jews than christians in most cases. With Jews I just feel, I am also one of them. The cant understand why I love Jews so much, I just cant help it, Jews are smart people... and I am from Jewish origin.
People can think I am crazy, what the hell is wrong with being Jewish? People are just green of jealousy... that's all!!!
I also know that My Grandfather was a russian/polish Jew, a Jewish-refugee. His name was A'haron Ovesay Surovsky.
And In mY heart I feel this unlimted love for the Jewish nation and also Israel. I really want to be a Jew, and I would love to have Isreali Citizenship. And I feel that I am also From Jewish Forefathers, and Ha'Shem blessed the generations also. I just want my part as a Jew, that Proudness, its amazing!

Please reply to me as soon as possible Rabbi

Thanks you so much
G-d bless
B'H

Answer
Dear Charles,

Allow me to be brief and clear.

According to Jewish tradition and law, if your mother had only a Jewish father and not a Jewish mother, then you would not be a Jew by birth.

Secondly, we do not refer to God as Yeshua - that is an expression used by Hebrew Christians, so-called messianics who accept Jesus but conceal that affiliation by the word Yeshua instead. If you have any identification with Jesus or messianics, then you would not be Jewish anywhere, based on the Israeli court ruling of Brother Daniel.

If you wish to determine your standing in Israel, contact the local Israeli embassy or consulate.

Best wishes and good luck.
