Conservatives - Ann Coulter

Expert: Paul Edward Zukowski - 7/5/2006

Question
Actually no, I've been reading about her from a variety of sources, including her official website and one of her columns featured on TownHall, the racist comments have appeared frequently as a response to 9/11, and the facist comments are basically what she preaches, including the digs at the first ammendment.

I've never heard of Air America, so I can't say I've used it as a source, and I refuse to put money into her pocket for her books, however your comments about "extensive footnotes and actual facts" sounds almost VERBATIM of her own personal defenses, including the remark about Moore. However some of her comments seem to be based on nothing but speculative theory, or pure hatred, not actual facts.

From her column:
"We know who the homicidal maniacs are. They are the ones cheering and dancing right now. ¶ We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war."

National View however does not have the page still up, for good reason. Imposing your religion upon others is classified somewhere between imperialism and facism.

Another from her column:
"Being nice to people is, in fact, one of the incidental tenets of Christianity (as opposed to other religions whose tenets are more along the lines of 'kill everyone who doesn't smell bad and doesn't answer to the name Mohammed')"

Firstly, that's based on speculative racist digs, Islam does not teach violence, on the contrary Islam teaches respect for humanity, with an EMPHASIS on respect for "people of the book", explained by Professor of Middle Eastern Studies for Columbia University, Richard Bulliet, as followers of the Abrahamic Religions of Judaism and Christianity, Islam teaches respect for these religions, not hatred.

And just this Febuary at CPAC:
"I think our motto should be, post-9-11, 'raghead talks tough, raghead faces consequences.'"

In response to Iran, a nation that is only 3% Arab
http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/ir.html#People

Raghead would be a racist slang for Arabs, which do not constitute even a large minority of the Iranian population.

Which denotes not only ignorance through racism, but ignorance to other peoples, which denotes a lack of respect for other peoples, then again the racism screams that just fine.

Here's another from her column:
"Which brings me to this week's scandal about No Such Agency spying on "Americans." I have difficulty ginning up much interest in this story inasmuch as I think the government should be spying on all Arabs, engaging in torture as a televised spectator sport, dropping daisy cutters wantonly throughout the Middle East, and sending liberals to Guantanamo."

Yet again, supporting a facist, and racist, regime, to target nothing but Arabs, singling them out (the racism) and intruding into their lives, to step on their civil liberties (the facism, under the belief that all people are NOT equal)

Do I really need to give you more examples to paint this picture any more clearly?

I think her column speaks volumes about her beliefs, and I think at the end of the day she's nothing more than a whiney little girl with extreme view points, she doesn't want to present people with a human point of view, a point of view more accurately reflected like so:

Iran, along with all those other nations she hates (such as the 22 actual Arab states including Jordan, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq) is a SOVERIGN nation capable of doing whatever it wishes, as it is soverign, as a soverign it is independent of foriegn rule, and it should be treated as such, it is a state comprised of people, no better and no worse than those found in the United States, or Canada (which Coulter also seems to particularly dislike) and issues regarding them should be dealt with in a humane manner, not by starting World War III.

Going further, her desire to subjugate every one of the 22 Arab nations through United States military power is something that I highly doubt could be realized through use of nothing but the United States armed forces, based purely on the physical SIZE of the region she's talking about controlling (given that Saudi Arabia alone is around 1/5th the size of the United States).

She merely wants to see a rather large geographic region subjugated to imperial rule, for whatever agenda of racist or facist "punishment" unto the inhabitants of said area. She additionally refers to arabs as insane savages, I'd really like to see how she has the guts to make this comment, given that Yasir Arafat (an Arab) won the Nobel PEACE Prize, while she herself boasts nothing of that level, I'd really like to know how these "savages" produced a man of that caliber.

Its satireric, pointing out infact thats is what the Islamic terrorists are attempting to do to the West.
Her observation about casting a wider net is valid point.
We are making pin-point strike rather total war upon the enemy.

Actually the Koran says all infidels must be converted or  killed. It a religion based on total submission.
To be blunt the Proffessor full of something.
read the Koran yourself. Muslums are not to speak to or eat with Jew or Christiens.

They do also were head dresses.
Its harsh language but I do not think its more than that.

I did not say she respects them.  You do not need to be nice to people who are trying to kill you.
What race would she be offended by?
See all the people North African, European, Middle Eastern and from the sub-continient are all Caucasian.

First I suggest you look to see what Facism is.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facism
As far it being racist all the terrorist targeting the West at
this point in time are practicianers of Islam.
How is an accurate discription of who the terrorists are
racist?

So by that thinking we should not have gone to war against Germany or Italy in WWII. They were both SOVERIGN as well. Niether had attacked us.
We should have said the extermination of Jew and Gypsies was ok because Germany is Soverign.
You disregard that Iraq (pre war) Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia (untill recently) all funneled money into terrorism.
Which in turn does effect those outside thier boarders.

Yasser Arafat was the grandfather of modern terrorism.
100,000 of thousands were killed or maimed at his direction. As newsweeks editorial cartoon at the time showed at the time. (it showed him looking at a bombs timer and saying he is late for noble prize)
To me Yasir Arafat who targeted woman and children
to kill for the sake of terror is a savage.
The Nobel cmmittee were being political in giving it too him. He had 98% of what wanted at Camp David in 2000. He walked away and launched the intafada.
I applauded when I heard that murderer was dead.
