Conservatives - Bill Clinton impeachment

Expert: Dennis - 6/7/2007

Question
I am in the middle of making a film project about the impeachment of Bill Clinton and I'm wondering what exacly should it consist of. I was wondering if you had any ideas such as the actual impeachment and if I Should include scenes of reporters etc.

Answer
Well, showing film of some of the speeches in the House, along with the vote, would be nice. Film of the Senate actions would be boring though. All the Dems voted no and all the Republicans voted yes.

Showing Clinton's public lies would also be good. He made various public statements that were false.

One thing you may want to do is compare the actions in the impeachment process to his actions as Commander in Chief.

I remember two incidents (and I believe there were many more) when something bad was going to happen for him in Washington, and on that day or the day before he blew up something. I seem to remember that on the day Monica was going to testify in the House, he launched a missile attack on somebody. Two days (I think it was two days) before the Impeachment vote, he unilaterally declared war on Bosnia/Serbia and began bombing the hell out of them.

I believe there would be a nice juxtaposition of the two separate stream of events. Something goes wrong in D.C., he starts blowing up things and killing people overseas.

Finally, make mention of how he got into all his problems (including losing his law license). Most people don't realize that he was giving a deposition in an upcoming civil trial against him by Paula Jones, and he presented false documents and statements from Monica Lewinsky for that trial.

That action started to unravel the whole ball of string. He tried to fix a trial in Arkansas, and it got him impeached after he lied to grand juries and federal investigators about what happened or didn't happen concerning those perjured statements.
