Question

Can you explain to me why a Republican is forced to apologize for stating that the "Democrats demonize Christians", yet when the head of the Democratic  party states that Republicans are a bunch of "Right Wing Bible Believing Christians", he is applauded by most of the Democrats. Is it considered a terrible sin among the liberals for a person to believe in the Bible? Certainly being ”Right Wing' does not make them Christians and being ‘Left Wing' does not necessarily make Democrats non Christian; so their “sin” must be ”in being a Christian who believes in the Bible”.

I have no problem in accepting the fact that most Democratic leaders do not accept the Bible as the “Word of God”, and that most are probably “secular humanists”, rather than Christians. This seems to be evidenced by their strong support of abortion, in spite of the fact that the Bible is firmly against the shedding of innocent blood (What is more innocent than the blood of an unborn child?); and their support of homosexuality and lesbianism, which are condemned in both the Old and New testaments.

If the Democratic leadership truly supports these issues and it appears obvious that most do, they have to believe that Moses lied or was not inspired by God; that Paul, who wrote most of the New Testament, also must have lied and not been inspired by the Holy Spirit as he indicated; and that Peter, who stated that Paul's writings were scriptural also had to have lied, or have been ignorant of God's commands. If these assumptions are true, why would any good Democrat want to pretend to be a Christian, unless it is to try to gain Christian votes?

This is not to imply that Republicans are sinless, or that Democrats are sinners. The Bible (which obviously many of both parties do not accept) clearly states that all have sinned. One cannot help but wonder, however, why these Democrats do not have the courage to admit that they are not in favor of Christian principles, but tend to prefer Secular Humanists or other non Christian beliefs. Note that they are always very careful to never condemn a Moslem, a Hindu, and other non Christians for their beliefs, but as indicated by the current dispute, they always feel free and appear overly anxious to condemn any Christian who holds to Biblical teachings.

Answer
To answer your first question, the reason there is a double standard for Democrats and Republicans is because the main stream media (ABC, CBS, New York Times, etc., etc.) defend the Democratic position (whatever it may be) and attack the Republican and their position. That is why Trent Lott can make acomment about Strom Thurmond, and have it played over and over again on all the major media outlets, while Dick Durbin compares American serviceman to Nazis, and not a word is heard about it until the "new" media (Internet & talk radio) make an issue of it.

Your second set of questions can be answered by understanding that the Democratic PArty has become a "secularist" Party in the last 40 years. God, morals, and rules have no place in their world where personal autonomy is king. If "I" believe it is right, no one can tell me it is wrong. Not you, your religion, your laws.

The Democrats have become the Party of the extreme Left-Wing, and they will have nothing to do with "religiosity."
