QuestionWhat Are The Steps From 0-10 to run for president of us... Like what would i have to do just to get my name on a the voter's card so atleast my brother could vote for me say...?
AnswerHi Dave, thanks for your interesting question. The constitution is very clear about who can be president, you must be a natural born citizen who has resided in the U.S. for the last 14 years at least, and be at least 35 years of age. So if you've got that covered, good. You can run for president. The problem is that just anyone can't say "I'm running" and have their name on the nation-wide ballot. For presidential elections you really have to run as a party member. The two major parties are the Republicans and the Democrats however you can run as part of a "third party" but we have never in our history had a third party candidate win. This is because few people vote for them because they know most of America will side with one of the two major parties.
Now, if I understand your question correctly, you do not wish to be the 44th president of the United States, rather you just want your name on the ballot. If this is the case then there is no reason for me to get into details about how you would never make it as a main-party member. Also, most candidates have held other government office before being put on the ballot (such as Senator, Governor, etc...). So, to be honest with you Dave, I think your best hope (which is little or 0) would be to find a third party to represent or create your own (although I'm not entirely sure that's possible). I hate to tell you, but I don't think it'll happen. I hope I was able to help, if not please ask a follow up, have a great day.
