About Lane
Expertise
As a Conservative Republican I can answer pretty much any question on any issue that faces America, namely issues that are hot topics in the political ring. From social issues like abortion to broader issues like The War On Terror; I am here to give you straight forward answers to help you better understand America's Political landscape. Being that I am a Republican, however, does not mean that I cannot look at situations objectively. There are areas where I disagree with the Conservative base and times where, because of my open-mindedness, display slightly more Liberal views - depending on the issue, of course.

Experience
I run a political blog called The Black & White Report (http://bwreport.blogspot.com/), write a weekly Conservative column (http://nicklane.townhall.com/) and also do extensive research into the area. I closely follow most stories which have political stance and publicize my opinions in a clean, informative way.

Organizations
I belong to The Republican Party, or the GOP.

Publications
The Black & White Report (http://bwreport.blogspot.com/)

Education/Credentials
Although I still attend High School it does not make me any less equipped to answer political questions because I devote much of my time to politics (much more than your average teen)I watch carefully what goes on in the political arena, I ask questions and challenge those in charge. I get to the truth and stay away from ignorant Partisan politics.

Awards and Honors
Although not relevent I receive straight A's in school and maintain a constant 4.0 GPA.

Conservatives - WW2

Question
I'm a conservative republican. I've often heard the idea that we have our freedom because we have fought for it, but I've never heard a good answer to any of the following  questions: (you don't have to answer all of them) What would life be like in the US if we had never entered WW2, or, what would life be like in the US if we had lost WW2? What freedoms would we have lost? Obviously it is impossible to answer a "what if" question with any certainty, but what are the likely possibilities? Your answer may be be as brief or concise as you like.

Answer
Hello, and thank you for your question. It is true that in order to gain our freedom we have had to fight for it. We can see this as early as the 1700's when we fought Britain for our independence and ultimately the base which provides the freedoms we enjoy today.

As far as WWII goes, however, the reason we entered it in the first place was not because we wanted a "piece of the action" but because we were attacked. The war had already been going on for some time when Japan and Germany decided to declare war on the U.S..

Once in the war we fought to keep ourselves from being invaded (securing our freedom) and to protect our people. So, my best attempt at answering your first question is this: if we had never entered the war, Japan and/or Germany would have invaded the states and took power for themselves and today (unless we ended up fighting back later) we would be speaking Japanese or German.

Looking at your second question of if we had lost, we can see a similar result (at least in the U.S.) but if we look world wide we would see even more widespread invasion taking place and instead of the actual outcome (of the United States and the Soviet Union emerging as the world's greatest super powers) we would have seen the enemy countries taking on those roles. If that had happened not only would things be much different here at home, but considerably different all over the world.

I hope I was able to answer your questions, if not please ask a follow-up. Have a great day!
