QuestionI need some help understanding globalization, and communitarians in a conservatives point of view.
AnswerHi Trena, great to hear from you! From what I make of your question (and please correct me with a follow up if I'm wrong) you are basically asking my opinion as a conservative on these issues. As far as globalization goes, it is the economic growth of a country and it's relationships with others. This one is a bit outside of my normal area of interest, but if I understand right I would say that a country needs good ties with others as well as good economic growth, however I think we as the U.S. should stop relying on China so much for our products and strengthen our own economy at home. Communitarianism is something I can talk more about. Communitarians like myself believe that the government and citizens themselves should be focused on helping the nation or society as a whole rather than just yourself. Really it is a way of opposing Liberals selfish social point of view where it's every man for himself, or that the government should somehow "provide" everyone with what they need (and charge us tons in tazes!) and promoting the idea of all for one one for all. I hope I was able to answer your question, please let me know if I did not and I'd be happy to try again. Have a great day!
