AboutLane Expertise As a Conservative Republican I can answer pretty much any question on any issue that faces America, namely issues that are hot topics in the political ring. From social issues like abortion to broader issues like The War On Terror; I am here to give you straight forward answers to help you better understand America's Political landscape. Being that I am a Republican, however, does not mean that I cannot look at situations objectively. There are areas where I disagree with the Conservative base and times where, because of my open-mindedness, display slightly more Liberal views - depending on the issue, of course.
Experience I run a political blog called The Black & White Report (http://bwreport.blogspot.com/), write a weekly Conservative column (http://nicklane.townhall.com/) and also do extensive research into the area. I closely follow most stories which have political stance and publicize my opinions in a clean, informative way.
Organizations I belong to The Republican Party, or the GOP.

Education/Credentials Although I still attend High School it does not make me any less equipped to answer political questions because I devote much of my time to politics (much more than your average teen)I watch carefully what goes on in the political arena, I ask questions and challenge those in charge. I get to the truth and stay away from ignorant Partisan politics.
Awards and Honors Although not relevent I receive straight A's in school and maintain a constant 4.0 GPA.
Question Lane
I don't want to get into a debate, but I am still trying to get the conservative viewpoint on two issues: The war in Iraq also called war on terror, and Mexican immigration.A Sunday evening spent watching Fox News prompted me to write.
Re. the first one, since 911 there have been no attacks on US soil,so where is the war? Sure some attacks may have been thrawted, but thats because of better security measures that 911 made necesary.
If you look at Iraq,Afganistan,Pakistan, there is more terror. But at home where it counts we have peace.
Also,I don't understand why a sizeable percentage of people are against Mexicans moving to America.
Sure,a lot sneak over, but they are too poor to go through the proper channels.
America is a nation of immigrants, and if there are jobs and opportunities awaiting, its supply and demand right?
In the old days steamers filled with Europeans docked in NY.
These Mexicans get hired right away and want to be here.
They arent terrorists.
Every other developed country is shrinking in population, except in Asia.America is still growing, and getting stronger.I think that China will replace Russia as the enemy,so we need to be getting stronger.
I think Americans should be proud of this so called issue.
In my mind there is no war on terror but there is a war because we took over Iraq to find bombs that they didnt have(?) and people want to come to America.Life is Good No?
Answer Hello Bud, thank you for the questions. Since you stated you do not wish to get into a debate, I will answer your questions by giving the Conservative take on these issues.
As far as The War On Terror goes, the reason it is named so is because it is not just taking place in Iraq, but Afghanistan as well. It is true that there have been no attacks on US soil since 9/11, but you are just making my point for me, because you are right that one of the reasons is heightened security, but another is because the terrorists have been greatly diminished in our efforts overseas and also, to some extent, they are afraid. We have peace at home, because we are at war abroad. You see, if we were to just bring home every single troop tomorrow, before long the war would be here. The terrorists would follow us home.
Plus, you made a point about the weapons of mass destruction which we were trying to find in Iraq. When we were attacked we had to act on the intelligence we had at the time, and at that time we had credible sources saying that Al Qaeda was in Iraq and had these weapons and were ready to use them against us. We had no choice but to invade, and when we got there we didn't find the weapons but we did find a corrupt dictator who we subsequently took out. Now, with no real form of government in place yet, and terrorists still in occupation, we can't leave the Iraqi people high and dry.
Now on illegal immigration. If I may really quickly correct you on a common misconception, race is not really an issue here, we have people from all sorts of different countries, and it is not just Mexicans we don't want. What we don't want is people who come over here not going through the proper systems, and I know many are too poor to do so but (and I'm sorry if it sounds harsh) it is not America's job to take in every person who is unhappy with their country, we simply can't do it. I understand that many find jobs, but a lot of those jobs could be taken by willing Americans who would otherwise be out of work.
Also, many aliens don't pay taxes, so in a sense they are reaping the benefits of America without giving back. Plus, oftentimes, terrorists do use our vulnerable southern border to sneak in under the radar and carry out attacks. Also, there is a large number of aliens who come here and commit crimes, sometimes deadly crimes. For example, during the summer an illegal was driving drunk when he crashed into another car killing two young girls. He survived. It didn't need to happen, because he didn't need to be here.
I hope I was able to answer your questions, if not please ask a follow up. Thank you and have a great day!
p.s. if you would like even more of my take on these issues, especially illegal immigration, I would direct you to my Political Blog called The Black & White Report. (http://bwreport.blogspot.com/) You can do a search for these topics in the upper left hand corner. Thank you.
