AboutAlexander Hodgkiss Expertise I can answer almost any question you have about various game franchises for multiple systems. I've played well over 1000 games starting from the NES all the way to the current consoles and handhelds, in just about every single genre there is, but am especially familiar with RPG, action, adventure, platform, fighting, and strategy games. I cannot help with question about major sports games (Madden), music games, and major racing games (Gran Turismo, Project Gotham Racing). Otherwise, feel free to ask for anything. If you're also looking for a new great game to play, let me know your tastes, and platforms, and we can figure out something great to be your next game.
Experience I've been playing games since I was 4, starting on the NES with Mega Man, and have been an avid gamer and collector ever since.

Question QUESTION: Hi,
Can you tell me if the PS3 will play PS2 games? I can't seem to get a consistent answer. I have been told yes and no. I don't know what to believe.
Thanks for your help
ANSWER: Howdie Eric,
This is typically a difficult question to answer. It really comes down to which region your system is from, and what specific game you're playing.
If your PS3 is coded for the United States, then it's a guarantee your system will play PS2 games. Sadly, because of encoding, there is a small chance there will be some games that don't work 100% as they would on a PS2. This is a very rare case though. I've yet to have any problems personally with playing the PS2 games on my PS3.
Now, if you have it region encoded for Europe, then you have a problem. Sony did not implement Europe's PS3's to play PS2 games. This is where you'll have a problem.
Hope this answers your question. Take care.

QUESTION: Alexander, I have one more question. Does it matter if it is the 40gig, 60gig, or the 80gig PS3?
Answer Howdie Eric,
There really isn't any difference between any of the versions aside from size of the hard drive. If you're planning to make use of the PlayStation Network to download games and other add-ons, you may want the bigger hard drive for storage space. You never know.
Also, both versions come with different bundled items. One of them comes with a Blu-ray disc of Spider-Man 3, while the other comes with a game.
Sorry it that doesn't help in choosing which one to get. Take care.
