Hi, i have a PS2 and for some reason neither of my guitar hero games will work. My guitar hero 3 game will start loading, but once it has a full bar as if it is complete, it will not move on. On my guitar hero 2 game it will go farther in loading, but it will either stop after choosing the difficulty level on career mode, or once i choose a song on quickplay it will not load (although a few times it has loaded that way after a long time). All of my other games work perfectly fine, it is just these 2 games. It just happened one time when i was going to play guitar hero 3 and it would not load, so i put guitar hero 2 in and neither would it. It doesn't make any sense to me, but if you have any idea please let me know. Thanks, Greg!

You would not happen to have a older style PS2 your you?  (the Phat Style)

A lot of people are having issues with Guitar Hero 3 loading.  The problem may lie in the fact that GH3 is a DVD9 standard game.  (Dual layered Game)  There is about only 20 DVD9 games released http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_2_DVD-9_games if you have one of these games does it also have problems loading?  I would bet it probably does.

My guess there is a laser intensity problem.  And your laser may need adjusting for it to be able to read these disk properly.  It works fine with CD or DVD games just when it attempts to read the DVD9 Dual layered disks it has a problem.

So I would first attempt a lens cleaning and then move on to the adjustment of the laser (which may not help) and will involve pulling your PS2 completely to bits.  Most people I have spoken to have gotten impatient and given up and gone out an bought a slim line PS2.
