Question
hi sam i was thinking about buying a ps 3 and was just wondering if the 40 GB has the slot where u can put your memory cards in?if so where do they go? many thanks

Answer
Hello

First off, the PS3 is a great console, a good choice you've made there. Unfortunately the 40GB version, unlike its older brother the 60GB, doesn't include the ability to put your memory cards into the console. Nor can you play PS2 games, which, if you were a PS2 gamer, is a big let down. Also on the 40GB version, there is only 2 USB ports.

There is the option of buying a 60GB off play.com or another Internet retailer but the 40GB model features a 65nm cell chip, which uses a lot less power than the 60GB model. Also, the 40GB is very much quieter and produces much less heat.

So, if your not really bothered about the lack of memory card slots or the loss of backwards compatibility with PS2 games feature, then I would definitely recommend saving yourself £50 and buying the 40GB model.
