QuestionPokemon: Fire Red
Girl power rules! I am a veteran player of the original "Pokemon Red" (got all of them) and "Pokemon Silver" (got all of them). Needless to say, as much as I love the game, I am not about to repeat this performance a third time. Here are the new rules that I follow for "Pokemon: Fire Red."
(1) If I can't catch it in the wild, forget about it! I will not level it up just to add it to my pokedex! Trading within the game is okay though, as long as the pokemon need for the trade does not have to be leveled up to evolve.
(2) If it is difficult to capture, forget about it! Examples of these are Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, and Snorlax. I still had the "Master Ball" so I used it to catch "Mewtwo." The "Safari Zone" is the exception because of the fact that I like the challenge of it!
One more thing, I only own "six" pokemon in the entire game (yes, Bill's PC is completely empty to the bone!). My character's name is "Rinoa" and all of my pokemon are girls and I can easily kick the ass of the "new and improved" Elite Four with ease! :) I have defeated them 58 times!
QUESTION #1:
From a rating of 1 (being the worst) and 10 (being the best), what do you think of my team? Any comments? Just so you know, they are all level 100.
(a)Fire Empress--Charizard: Earthquake, Flamethrower, Slash, and Aerial Ace.
(b)Water Empress--Gyrados: Thunder, Surf, Waterfall, and Strenght.
(c)Air Empress--Pidgeot: Fly, Steel Wing, Wing Attack, and Feather Dance.
(d)Edena--Parasect: Solar Beam, Slash, Rock Smash, and Spore.
(e)Ultima--Raticate: Hyper Fang, Dig, Cut, and Super Fang.
(f)Earth Empress--Onyx: Double-Edge, Dig, Rock Throw, and Screech.
QUESTION #2:
Which area of the "Safari Zone" is the best place to find "Tauros."
QUESTION #3:
Which area of the "Safari Zone" is the best place to fish for "Dragonair."
AnswerI rank your team as 7.5/10 - Better than most (at level 100) and well-balanced, but it isn't extraordinarily good. Charizard is one of the best fire-types in the game, Gyarados and Pidgeot are solid, but I have some issues with your other characters. Parasect is not a particularly good grass-type; It's painfully weak to Fire and Flying attacks, and its special attack is not that good. Tangela, Victreebel or Vileplume would be better choices, or perhaps an electric-type like Electabuzz.
Raticate and Onyx are both powerful, physical-attack-using pokemon, and it's rarely necessary to have 2 on the same team. Especially considering Pidgeot is also a physical-attack using pokemon, I recommend replacing Raticate or Onyx with Mewtwo or Alakazam.
For the Safari Zone, Area 3 is best for both Tauros and Dragonair. Be sure to use a Super Rod when fishing for Dragonair.
