Console Games (Nintendo, Sony etc.) and Arcade Games/SNES

Question
I recently decided to dust off my old Super Nintendo, hooked it up to the TV and got some games to start up then freeze, others to have horizontal lines, and a couple with just black screen.  For the games that did not have black screen the music and sounds would work just not the picture.  Any ideas?

Thanks.

Sincerely,
   Andrew

Answer
Sounds like common symptoms of age. I would recommend blowing in the cartridges to see if that fixes it, if not, try blowing in the game slot for the SNES. Sometimes, a can a compressed air works better than blowing in it.
