Console Games (Nintendo, Sony etc.) and Arcade Games/Pokemon Firered- Gameshark problems

Question
Hi!
I was wondering if I could get some help:)

I have Pokemon Firered for GBA by the way...

What I wanted to do was get all pokemon I could on my game, so I bought a Gameshark SP. It hasen't done me much good. It came with no instructions, and I'm not even sure the codes I type are going in the right places, or if I'm highlighting the right things! I started out with trying to get a Bulbasaur.

This is what I've typed into my gameshark so far:

Master Code for Fire Red: (the website i used said this is correct. this is the website I used by the way: http://faqs.ign.com/articles/568/568292p1.html)
[M] Code:
000014D1000A
1003DAE60007

and then my cheat name: Bulbasaur

and then it's code:
Catch Any Pokemon:
83007CEE0001 <--the 001 at the end for bulbasaur

then i turn on the game, and i walk a few steps and no bulbasaur! even on my pokedex it says "area unknown" for bulbasaur's location. I'm not sure where to find it or if it worked!

I would really really love some help on where to find bulbasaur (and all other pokemon for that matter) or how to make the cheat/code work!!!

Answer
Hi Emily.

From what I can see... the codes do not seem to be the problem. GameSharks are a hassel in themselves for me (I dont own one, but plenty of friends ask about it...), even with a manual, so not having one has to be a real pain!

Your in luck, as I've found an online version of the missing manual.

Found at: http://www.madcatz.com/downloads/manuals/GBA%20SP%20English.pdf

Make sure your have a .pdf reader like acrobat reader.

See if what your doing is matching what it says in the manual, and if things are still not working, let me know and I'll do my best to help.

Expertise

I'm moving into answering questions relating to the Xbox 360 and related games. I can still answer questions on previous topics (Gamecube/GBA stuff) but please note I will not be able to help at a full capacity. As always, if I dont know the answer I'll do my best to search for it or point you to the best possible alternative for getting an answer (Updated 31/08/06 and about time too).

Experience

I've been a gamer for pretty much the last 14/15 years, so I feel I know my fair share about the subject. I spent the early years with Nintendo, the mid years with both Sony and Nintendo and I'm now just enjoying my Xbox 360, so I have experience with all three groups. I'm not much of a technical buff, but just like before if I cant answer a technical question personally I'll do my best to search for it or point you out to the next best source (Updated 31/08/06)
