Question
QUESTION:       Every time i turn on my psp the screen turns on and it shows my background and clock but thats all it shows...?
Every time i turn on my psp the screen turns on and it shows my background and clock but thats all it shows, and then it stays at that screen for about 15 seconds, then shuts off. I have a pandora battery, but after i install my new firmware and stuff i put in my regular battery and the same thing happens. What do i do to make it show my complete home screen? [a.k.a. XMB]?????

and i can also access the recovery menu so if that is any help at all please tell me!!!!!!!

ANSWER: Gday John,

Weird problem one which I have not heard of before.

One thing I would try is without the memory stick or any battery in the unit try powering on you PSP using the changer cable.  See if the unit powers up and stays up.  (Which would then point to you battery or memory stick)

If it is still crashing and doing the same thing.  Since you have a Pandora battery (and hopefully config files or at least somewhere to download them) I would be really tempted to roll back you PSP to factory standard and start from scratch.  Whatever firmware/homebrew you loaded on your PSP it definitely did not like.

(If you sift thru a couple of my older questions there is links there to finding and downloading the correct software to roll back you PSP)

Hope this helps

QUESTION: i had this happen because i was making a pandora battery on my psp with some software(i forgot what it was called), so i put my pandora battery in and installed 3.71 m33 with it, (i was in the process of downgrading from 4.01 m33 to 3.71 m33) and after the installation was done i shutdown the psp, put my regular psp battery in, turn the psp on,  and then the screen turns on and it shows my background and clock, but thats it. Now is there a way to fix this besides rolling back my psp?

ANSWER: Gday again,

I can't think of what is causing this.  It is like you have corrupted of lost your XMB interface which is what I belive the 3.71 m33 version is.  (Updating you XMB interface)

So again probably best to downgrade back to factory standard and start again.  Which is better a factory standard PSP or what you have?  The fact that it is powering off after it is powering on is also pointing to some sort of software corruption or error.  Again better to just get rid of the downgrade you did and start from scratch.

Sorry I could not be of more help.

QUESTION: wait i can still access recovery mode which means i can still access a usb connection with my computer... Is there a way that i can install a different software? Ex. 4.01 m33???

Answer
Gday again,

You could but again you have to find the correct software that goes along with whatever downgrade tool you have.

I have found in the past it easier to load the software to your memory stick from your computer then use it on your PSP as stand alone with your Pandora battery to downgrade.  (Not having the USB cable connected between the two)

Hope this helps
