Question I have a Sabre steering wheel which I got second-hand (with no instructions) which says it is for PS2 on the base. I want to play it with Formula 1 2001 and Golden Age of Racing PS2 games. It works, just, but to get the wheels to turn I need to turn the steering wheel virtually to full lock so I can't go round corners! Is the wheel compatible for the game or do I need to set something up differently?
Thank you.
Answer Gday Brian,
Lets assume the Steering Wheel is fully working. (There is no real way of telling as you got it second hand.)
What you are going to have to do is go into the setup options of both of these games and adjust the setting according to this Joystick (Steering wheel in this case. Consult the game manual) There maybe a setting that needs to be changed in the Game setup to adjust for the Steering wheel. (Maybe as simple as changing it from Controller to Steering wheel in the options). It might have max left and right that need setting or even change to analog setting in game. A lot of modern driving games will have this option or a range of them to cope with foot pedals, gears etc.
I think it is going to be more a case of the game being compatible with the Wheel rather then the wheel being compatible with the game. The wheel is only as good as what inputs the game allows.
