Question are game cube games compatible to play on a wii system.
I recently purchased a game for my wii and not paying close attention got a game cube game, of course it is a mini disc, can it be put into the wii and ploayed that same as a wii disc game?
Answer Gday Danyelle,
The Wii is fully backward compatible of playing gamecube games. (Which is a good cheap source of games)
However you will have to also invest in a gamecube controller and memory cards if you want to play and save them. (As you can't use the Wii remote for a controller for these games or any Wii memory cards to save games.)
If you look on the top of the Wii you will find there are 2 door flaps one has controller port under it the other has memory card ports for the gamecube.
Simply plug up a gamecube controller and memory card if needed. Start your Wii. Insert a gamecube disk exactly the same way you would a Wii disk. Use you Wii remote to click on what would be the Wii game channel (Which now should say Gamecube), Click start with the Wii remote. Then use the Gamecube controller from then on.
