Expert: Octane - 10/14/2009
Question I always try to use the onscreen keyboard on the psp but it doesn't want to work. When I try to use it to type something on the psp, it closes instantly. In other words, the keyboard comes up and then goes away. Can you help me with this?
Answer Gday Paco,
I assume you have tried restoring factory defaults? (Which probably will not help)
It sounds like a button is stuck down or at least registering as being pressed (At a guess probably the Start one) If it is under warranty or newly acquired I would be returning it to be fixed or replaced.
If it is out of warranty I would then go about disassembling the PSP and using some cleaning alcohol to clean the button contacts on the PCB and the contacts on the rubber. If they are damaged you could always just replace the entire set of rubber (For about $5)
I did a bit of a check around the usual places online and others have had this problem, unfortunately almost all returned them for a replacement or to get fixed.
Hope this helps.
